Q: What is a Corporate/Furnished Apartment?

A: A corporate/furnished apartment is an apartment which includes furniture, appliances, dishes, cutlery, cookware, house-wares, linens, towels, cable television, telephone service, Internet access and utilities. While similar to a hotel room, corporate/furnished apartments are generally larger and feature the conveniences of an apartment such as full kitchens and separate bedrooms.

 

Q: Will the leasing office run a credit check if I rent a corporate/furnished apartment?

A: Yes. A credit check will be performed on individual applicants or on a business if a corporate entity applies in place of an individual.

 

Q: Do I have to sign a lease for corporate/furnished housing?

A: Yes. Individuals and business applicants will be asked to execute a Lease Agreement for all apartment rentals.

 

Q: Do I have to pay tax on corporate/furnished housing?

A: It depends on tax status, length of stay and type of travel. Unless you are tax exempt or traveling on a Federal Government TDY, A tax of 14.5% applies in the District of Columbia on all Leases for periods shorter than 91 days.

 

Q: Must I provide a notice to vacate before the end of my lease?

A: Yes. Notice to vacate is required in writing 30 days prior to moving out of the apartment.

 

Q: Does The Lansburgh rent corporate/furnished apartments for less than 30-days?

A: Our general policy on furnished rentals is that a minimum stay of 30 days is required for standard rates. There are a limited number of Guest Suites in which we will accommodate shorter stays. Rates for shorter stays are higher than standard rates and are based on the length of stay.

 

Q: Is parking included with the Lease?

A: No. Parking is available in our garage for an additional fee. It is available on a daily and monthly basis from Colonial Parking or from the Management Office. There is an administrative fee charged if parking is arranged through the Management office.
